Why Ying Language Academy?

Ying Language Academy (YLA) has been established to help those with either a career or leisure interest in learning Mandarin Chinese to rapidly develop their language skills together with a cultural understanding of modern day China. We are one of the few language schools in central London who provide company in-house language teaching for business clients who are based in the city.

The language classes at the Ying Language Academy were previously run by the Great Britain-China Centre, an organisation of excellence in the promotion of understanding between Britain and China particularly in the areas of legal and judicial reform and labour reform. The YLA itself was established in April 2002 with a wide range of classes covering absolute beginners, intermediate and advanced level classes.

The class sizes at the YLA are ranged between 4-10 people and are run on informal basis. WE also organize Chinese culture related activities such as going out for Chinese meals, exhibitions and movies; Gatherings are also organized for students at the YLA to celebrate traditional Chinese festivals such as Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn Festivals with a mixture of Chinese and non-Chinese friends. These activities provide very good opportunities for students to practice Mandarin Chinese.
